Officials now say the crash turned deadly, involving a big rig and a Nissan Altima. They say around 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning, the Nissan crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and crashed head-on into the big rig. Authorities are asking drivers to use alternative routes until lanes can be reopened.___(7:04 a.m.) - All lanes on Highway 166 near Pine Canyon Road east of Santa Maria are blocked due to a collision, according to the CHP.No additional details on the accident have yet been released and an estimated time of opening is unknown.
