Fatal crash among wrecks causing closure of southbound I-95 in Mims, FHP says

At least two crashes, one of which was reported as fatal, led to the closure of all southbound lanes on Interstate 95 in Brevard County on Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.The closure is near mile marker 230 in Mims.The first crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. on I-95 south, south of Deering Parkway. A fuel tanker suffered a tire malfunction causing it to run off the roadway right, where it struck a concrete culvert and overturned in a ditch, according to FHP. The fuel tanker's driver — a 48-year-old man from Lake Worth — was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, troopers said. He was in stable condition at last check.Later, a fatal crash was reported about a mile north of where the fuel tanker ran off the road, at mile marker 231, according to FHP.
