Fatal collision on Beltway in Parkville results in man's death, authorities report
Maryland State Police reported that a tragic incident occurred on Saturday morning on the Beltway in Baltimore County, resulting in a fatality. The collision involved four vehicles at the Inner Loop near Perring Parkway around 8 a.m. James Beckham, a 31-year-old driver from Essex, lost his life after being taken to a hospital. Another driver was also hospitalized for injuries, while two drivers and a passenger escaped unharmed. According to police, a preliminary investigation suggests Beckham initially struck another vehicle's corner, leading to subsequent collisions with two other vehicles. The Inner Loop had to be shut down for approximately 3 1/2 hours following the incident. The cause of the crash is currently being investigated.
