Fatal collision involving car kills woman in San Mateo
Authorities are currently investigating a tragic incident in San Mateo involving a woman who was struck and killed by a car on Friday morning. According to the San Mateo police, the accident took place at the intersection of 17th Avenue and El Camino Real around 10:30 a.m. The woman was promptly transported to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver involved in the collision cooperated with police at the scene. As a result of the crash, traffic on El Camino Real had to be redirected, with northbound vehicles being rerouted onto eastbound 17th Avenue and southbound traffic guided towards West Borel Avenue. Additionally, the northbound off-ramp from Highway 92 to El Camino Real was temporarily shut down.
