Fatal collision in Newark involving 4 vehicles; authorities searching for unidentified driver
A deadly four-car collision occurred in Newark last Saturday morning, with one man losing his life and authorities on the lookout for a vehicle that fled the scene. The incident unfolded around 9:45 a.m. on Salem Church Road when a Chevrolet Malibu drove into oncoming traffic, crashing into a Honda Civic and resulting in the death of the Civic's 60-year-old driver from Middletown, Delaware. The Malibu went on to collide with a Subaru Impreza and a Hyundai Elantra. The 21-year-old Malibu driver from Dover sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. Thankfully, the drivers of the Impreza and Elantra were unharmed. Police are seeking information or video footage related to the unidentified vehicle that failed to stop after the crash.
