Fatal collision at U.S. 31 and S.R. 10
A woman from Culver tragically lost her life in a car accident at the intersection of U.S. 31 and State Road 10 in Argos on Sunday evening. Carol Ziert, aged 80, was declared deceased at 8:12 p.m. on December 28th at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth. According to the Marshall County Coroner's Office, Ziert was driving a 2024 Nissan westbound on State Road 10 when she collided with a vehicle heading south on U.S. 31. Despite being taken to Plymouth Hospital after the crash, Ziert passed away due to her injuries. The cause of death, as determined by Marshall County Deputy Coroner John Lampkins, was multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the accident. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the incident, and more information about the other driver and vehicle involved will be provided by the Sheriff's Department.
