The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash occurred around 2:30 a.m., involving a vehicle carrying multiple individuals that veered off the road and struck trees. The vehicle involved was identified as a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, which had recently been reported stolen. The initial investigation revealed that the Equinox was traveling north on State Line Road and failed to navigate the curve onto Greenmount Pike, leading to the collision with the trees. Authorities noted there were five young passengers in the vehicle, all of whom were minors. The Richmond Police Department had received a report of the stolen Equinox on the evening of Thursday, December 18.
