Fatal car crash near El Capitan Reservoir in San Diego County
(FOX 5/KUSI) -- A two-vehicle collision on a rural road in eastern San Diego County turned fatal Thursday afternoon. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at 11 a.m. Thursday on El Monte Road near El Cajon Mountain Truck Trail in eastern San Diego County near the El Capitan Reservoir. According to CHP, at least one person was killed and the coroner was called to the scene of the collision. A tow truck was requested around 1 p.m. to take away the wreckage, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page. One of the vehicles was reported to be several feet off the road.
