Fatal car crash and fire claims life of Greenwood woman in Boone County
A tragic incident occurred in Boone County, Indiana over the weekend where a young woman from Greenwood lost her life in a car accident. The Boone County Sheriff's Office received a report about a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 421 and County Road 100 North on Saturday evening. Upon reaching the scene, deputies found a blue pickup truck that had veered off the road, hit a tree, and caught fire. The driver, 21-year-old Jordan Perry, was taken to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The authorities suspect that the snowy weather conditions in central Indiana played a role in the accident. The debris on the roads due to the snowfall has caused delays in traffic across the region. The law enforcement officers are continuing their investigation into the incident. Additionally, an Indiana state trooper was also hurt in a separate crash on Interstate 465 on the same night. Further details regarding the tragic crash are expected to be released by the deputies as they proceed with their inquiries, but no new information has been provided at the moment.
