Fatal ATV accident near Bancroft claims life of 58-year-old man
A tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening when a 58-year-old Blackfoot man passed away after a side-by-side ATV accident in Caribou County. The Idaho State Police reported that the collision occurred on Kelly Toponce Rd at 5:55 p.m. the day before. The driver, with a 66-year-old male passenger, lost control of the ATV while heading northbound near Bancroft. The vehicle overturned off the road as the driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts. Both were taken to local hospitals, but unfortunately, the driver succumbed to his injuries while the passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The identity of the deceased driver and the cause of death will be disclosed by the Caribou County Coroner’s office. The investigation of the collision is ongoing, as stated by Idaho State Police.
