Fatal Amish buggy crash leaves 1 dead, 2 critically injured
BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio (WDTN) – One person is dead, and two are critically injured after a crash involving an SUV and an Amish buggy on Saturday, May 2. According to our partners at Peak of Ohio, deputies were first called to State Route 235 near Country Road 13 just after 8 a.m. on Saturday. Investigators believe that an SUV traveling southbound struck the rear of the horse-drawn buggy traveling on the edge of the roadway. The impact ejected all three occupants, who were then taken to the hospital. Two are in critical condition, while 48-year-old Daniel Wagner Senior died at the hospital. The driver of the SUV was cited, and a report will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for the possibility of further charges.
