Fatal accident on I-71 in Richland County
A tragic incident occurred early Monday morning in Richland County, Ohio, where a Columbus woman lost her life in a car accident on Interstate 71. The victim, identified as 81-year-old Leontine Vandyke from Marengo, Ohio, veered off the road, drove down an embankment, and ultimately came to a stop on Vanderbilt Road. Vandyke survived the crash but sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, 70-year-old Charlene Lagerberg, who was seated in the front passenger seat, did not survive. The cause of the accident is currently unknown, and authorities are investigating the incident further.
