Fatal accident: Man killed in Memorial Day crash in Ohio

**Related Video Above: What happens when you call 911 BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) -- A man died following a two-vehicle crash in Stark County on Memorial Day, the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) confirmed Tuesday. Troopers were called to the area of State Route 21 and State Route 212 for reports of a crash at that intersection just before 3 p.m. Upon arrival, troopers learned the driver of a Ford Escape SUV stopped at the intersection stop sign and attempted to make a left onto SR-21 at the same time the driver of a Chevy Silverado truck pulling a trailer was going north on that road. The driver of the truck reportedly swerved and hit the SUV on its left side, causing both vehicles to go off the road and the SUV to hit a traffic sign. The driver of the SUV, identified as 28-year-old Alex McPeak of Coshocton, was flown to Summa Health System -- Akron Campus but later died from his injuries, OSHP said. A passenger in that vehicle was taken to Mercy Hospital. The driver of the truck, a 19-year-old from Doylestown, was not hurt but a passenger in her vehicle was also taken to Mercy Hospital, according to OSHP. OSHP said they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash and all people were wearing seatbelts at the time. An investigation is ongoing.
