Fatal accident leaves one dead on Hwy 84 Saturday

LAMB COUNTY, Texas -- The Texas Department of Public Safety said 54-year-old Clodoaldo Salas was pronounced dead at the scene after a crash on US Highway 84, 1 mile northwest of County Road 267, on June 6. Preliminary investigation revealed that Salas was driving a Freightliner Truck-tractor, towing a semi-trailer and was traveling northwest on US Highway 84. The vehicle left the roadway into the center median, crossed the southeast lanes of travel and entered the barrow ditch and then continued back across the southeast lanes, the center median and then back across the northwest lanes and entered the barrow ditch. The trailer came to a stop after it side-skidded and rolled over. Texas DPS made note that the weather conditions at the time of the accident were rainy, and the roads were wet.
