Fatal Accident in Moline reported by Police
A fatal traffic accident occurred yesterday in Moline, as reported by the Moline Police Department. The incident took place in the 3600 block of 41st Street at around 1:10 p.m. A 33-year-old woman driving a 2017 Chevy Spark was stopped on 41st Street, preparing to turn right into an apartment complex, when a 2013 Ford F350 driven by a 46-year-old man rear-ended her vehicle. The Chevy driver sustained serious injuries and tragically passed away. Fortunately, no injuries were reported for the occupants of the Ford, which included a small child. Road closure lasted approximately three hours on Sunday to allow for traffic crash reconstruction investigations. The circumstances are being further examined by the Moline Police Department Traffic Unit, with initial findings suggesting road conditions were not a contributing factor and the road was clear. Additional accident reconstruction is ongoing.
