Fatal accident in construction area on Spaulding Turnpike in Dover
A tragic incident occurred on Friday when a man lost his life in a collision within a work zone on the northbound section of the Spaulding Turnpike in Dover. Upon reaching the crash site near the 6th Street overpass, Dover Fire and Rescue found a worker who was not breathing and had no pulse. Authorities stated that an individual was hit by a vehicle in the work area, deeming it a workplace accident. To safeguard emergency personnel, traffic was delayed as the fast lane was closed off. The area was eventually cleared by afternoon. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
