Fatal accident claims life of Minden woman on U.S. Highway 80
MINDEN, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A woman is dead following a morning accident along U.S. Highway 80 in Minden, according to Louisiana State Police. The accident happened around 7:55 a.m. near W J Beck Road and claimed the life of Shatariea Shine, 40, of Minden, said Trooper Eddie Thomas, Troop G Public Affairs, in a press release. According to LSP, their initial investigation indicates that Shine was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier when it left the road and struck a tree. Authorities say they do not yet know why the car left the road. Shine was not wearing a seatbelt, said Thomas. She suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. LSP says impairment is not suspected, but toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis.
