Fatal accident claims life of 50-year-old in Argenta
A tragic incident occurred in Argenta, Illinois, resulting in the death of a 50-year-old man identified as William Whitsel of Decatur. The Macon County Sheriff's Office reported that the accident took place at 3 p.m. on Claremont Street during a leaf-clearing operation conducted by a hired company. According to Lieutenant Scott Flannery, a worker fell off the back of a truck while using an industrial vacuum, and was subsequently run over by the trailer carrying the vacuum. The injured individual was taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
