Fatal 4-car Broward County crash injures 2 from the Gulf Coast
A Port Charlotte man and a Naples man were injured in a four-vehicle crash that killed two other people on Alligator Alley in Broward County early Sunday morning.According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2001 Van Hool bus driven by a 75-year-old man from Doral was stopped on the outside lane of southbound I-75 at mile marker 26. It was disabled, and the driver was standing outside of the bus.A 2024 Toyota Rav4, being driven by a 59-year-old man from Port Charlotte, was going south on the outside lane of I-75. The driver didn't see the bus and tried to swerve to the left, however, the front right of his car collided with the rear of the bus, FHP says. The Toyota was redirected in a southeasterly direction and collided with a guardrail.A 2007 Honda Odyssey being driven by a 45-year-old man from Miami was driving southbound in the outside lane of I-75 and tried to swerve to the right, however the front of the car collided with the rear of the bus. The Honda overturned and came to a stop on the southbound travel lane.A 2017 white Nissan Rogue, being driven by a 49-year-olf man from Fort Lauderdale, was traveling south and approaching the crash area.
