Evansville man charged with DUI after crash with two kids in the car
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- A man is charged with a DUI after a car accident that sent two children to the hospital. An arrest affidavit says EPD officers were called to the 800 block of South Boeke Road on Friday, after a man had crashed his car into a tree. Upon arrival, officers found two children on the sidewalk and an adult male being bandaged by firefighters. While investigating, officers say they found a McDonald's cup filled with a liquid that smelled like alcohol, a beer can and another opened can of an alcoholic beverage. Firefighters told officers that the driver's breath smelled like alcohol. The driver was identified as Travis Carson-Lambert. Police say he was driving with his children in the backseat when he crashed. Carson-Lambert told officers he has epilepsy, and a seizure caused the crash. Officers administered a breathalyzer test, and he blew .134. Travis Carson-Lambert was arrested and taken to an area hospital to be medically cleared. His children were also taken to the hospital. His eight-year-old daughter only suffered minor injuries, but his nine-year-old son had a minor head injury and a seatbelt rash.
