EPD squad car collision classified as an accident, no repercussions expected
EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) - Evansville Police say the accident Thursday involving a passenger car and an EPD squad car is going to be classified as an accident with no further action needed. Sgt. Anthony Aussieker says they were able to look at surrounding surveillance and dash cam footage and determined the intersection was busy before the accident. Aussieker says the officer was in the intersection, obeying all rules and slowed down approaching the intersection when he says the passenger car probably did not see him due to the activity. Aussieker says one officer and the driver of the passenger car were taken to the hospital for injuries but released soon after. Aussieker also says it seems like there will be no repercussions for the driver of the passenger car as no one was driving erratically when the accident happened.
