Elderly woman passes away after being hit by car on Christmas Eve
In Shreveport, Louisiana, a tragic incident occurred resulting in the fatality of a 67-year-old woman named Geri Babin following a vehicle-pedestrian collision on December 24, 2025. The accident took place on Kings Highway in the 1500 block when Babin was hit by a car in the inside lane while crossing the road outside of a designated crosswalk. Despite efforts, Babin passed away on January 9, 2026 due to her injuries. The Shreveport Police Department notes that the driver involved cooperated with authorities, was not impaired, and remained at the scene.
