Edinburg police investigate deadly crash, one driver killed
EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Edinburg Police Department is investigating an early morning vehicle crash that left one man dead. At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, Edinburg police responded to the 2700 block E. Mile 17 1/2 regarding a vehicle crash where the vehicle had caught fire, according to a news release from Edinburg PD. When authorities arrived, they confirmed that the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. According to police, the investigation revealed that a blue Cheverolate Camaro was driving west on E. Mile 17 1/3 from Doolittle Road when the driver lost control, went off the roadway, and hit a concrete irrigation pipe. Edinburg police will not release the driver's identity until the next of kin has been notified.
