Drivers injured in head-on collision near Half Moon Bay
Highway 1 close to Half Moon Bay was closed for several hours on Monday night due to a serious head-on collision that occurred around 6:30 p.m. near Coral Reef Avenue in El Granada. Emergency responders had to extract both drivers who were trapped in their vehicles, with one being rescued after 15 minutes and the other after 45 minutes. They were then transported to the hospital, one by helicopter and the other by ambulance. The drivers' current conditions are unknown. The highway was cleared and reopened by 10 p.m. after the incident. More information about the crash was not immediately provided.
