Driver saved from creek after car overturns in Elgin
A driver who was involved in a rollover crash that ended with their vehicle upside down in a creek in Elgin on Thursday morning was successfully rescued. According to officials, the incident occurred just after 9 a.m. when they received a report of a car sliding off a driveway and flipping into the creek. The crash is believed to have been caused by icy road conditions, leading the driver to lose control on Kendall Road and end up in the creek. Firefighters managed to extract the driver from the vehicle within a few minutes. The driver sustained minor injuries and displayed symptoms of hypothermia due to the cold water. Following initial treatment at the scene, they were transported to a nearby hospital for further assessment. The Kane County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the incident.
