Driver of Tesla hurt in fiery Naperville crash due to medical issue
An incident occurred on Friday afternoon in Naperville where a man experienced a medical emergency while driving his Tesla, causing him to crash the vehicle, which subsequently caught fire. The 37-year-old driver was operating a 2025 Tesla Model Y on Route 59 near Cantore Road when the medical emergency occurred. After sideswiping another vehicle, the Tesla veered off the road, collided with a tree, and ignited. Fortunately, an off-duty Naperville police officer witnessed the accident and was able to rescue the driver from the burning vehicle. The driver sustained minor burns and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Route 59 was temporarily closed as firefighters extinguished the fire.
