Driver of Anthony Joshua Charged in Fatal Accident

According to the Ogun State Police Command, a driver, identified as Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, has been charged in connection with the crash that injured Anthony Joshua and led to the deaths of two of his trainers. Adeniyi, 46, faced charges at the Sagamu Magistrates’ Court in Nigeria and the case has been adjourned until January 20. Adeniyi was accused of dangerous driving, reckless and negligent driving, driving without care, and driving without a valid license. Anthony Joshua, a former heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist, was discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home, as confirmed by Nigerian authorities. Anthony was released two days following the car crash that claimed the lives of his strength and conditioning coach, Sina Ghami, and his trainer, Latif Ayodele. The crash occurred when the car Anthony was in collided with a stationary truck on a busy expressway in Nigeria.
