Driver killed in head-on collision on Route 5 in Holyoke
A man has passed away after a tragic accident in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The incident occurred on Route 5 when the man crossed into the middle lane and collided head-on with another vehicle. Emergency responders were called to the scene where they attended to the injured parties. The driver who crossed lanes succumbed to his injuries later at the hospital. The Holyoke Police Department believes that he caused the accident by veering into oncoming traffic. The occupants of the other vehicle involved were also hospitalized for evaluation. Despite a third vehicle being part of the scene, it was not damaged. Authorities have confirmed that no charges are being filed at this time. The Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Unit is currently investigating the crash.
