Driver killed in fiery head-on crash in DeKalb County

CORUNNA, Ind. (WANE) A Waterloo man died Friday morning in a head-on crash just east of Corunna in DeKalb County according to a press release from the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department. The crash took place shortly before 5 a.m. on U.S. 6 just west of CR 19. A preliminary investigation determined that a car heading west veered into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a pickup truck. The car came to rest on the berm and caught fire. Emergency responders put the fire out after arriving on the scene. The driver was then removed from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup rolled and came to rest right side up in a ditch. The driver complained of soreness, but refused medical treatment. The driver of the car was identified as Tristen Till, 28, of Waterloo. The crash forced the closure of U.S. 6 for several hours.
