Driver killed in collision with BNSF train in Burke County
BURKE COUNTY, N.D. (KXNET) — Authorities respond to fatal crash involving BNSF train in Burke County. According to The North Dakota State Patrol, on May 28, 2026, at 4:21 p.m., a 72-year-old male driving a 1978 Ford dump truck was traveling eastbound on 93rd Street Northwest near 69th Avenue Northwest. The driver attempted to cross the railroad tracks as an oncoming BNSF train approached. The dump truck was then struck by the train while crossing the tracks. The driver died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota State Patrol.
