Driver killed in collision on State Route 4

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- The Xenia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on State Route 4 near Bath Road on Friday, Feb. 27. According to OSP, a 2010 Ford was driving northbound and slowed to make a turn when it was struck from behind by a 2018 Jeep Cherokee at approximately 3:40 p.m. Both vehicles fell off the roadway following the accident. The driver of the Cherokee, 34-year-old Janea McBride from Columbus, died at the scene. A juvenile passenger in the Ford sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. The driver was not injured. During the investigation, northbound State Route 4 was closed. It reopened at approximately 8:15 p.m. The crash remains under investigation.
