Driver killed after speeding car overturns and burns on Oso Blanca Road near Kyle Canyon
A late-night crash on Oso Blanca Road ended with a vehicle engulfed in flames and the driver dead, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Police said the single-vehicle collision happened Saturday at about 11:57 p.m. on Oso Blanca Road, south of Kyle Canyon Road. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate a 2020 Ford Fusion was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway to the right, struck a raised dirt berm and overturned, coming to rest on its driver’s side. The crash ignited the car, which was eventually put out. Arriving emergency medical personnel determined the driver was beyond resuscitation and stopped lifesaving efforts. The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section. This crash marks the 58th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2026.
