Driver identified in deadly vehicle collision last weekend
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office has revealed the identity of the individual involved in a deadly car crash in Reelsville over the weekend. The driver, Cayla Clark from Brazil, Indiana, was identified by the Putnam County Coroner's Office. The incident occurred on a driveway near the Owen County Line, according to Putnam County Deputies. Following an automated crash notification from a cell phone in the vehicle, officers found the car ablaze upon their arrival, preventing immediate access due to intense heat and explosions. After extinguishing the flames, authorities discovered human remains in the driver's seat. Sheriff Jerrod Baugh noted that the preliminary investigation suggests the vehicle veered off the driveway and collided head-on with a tree before catching fire. The fire was so intense that the majority of the vehicle, including the black box, was destroyed.
