Driver flees scene after fatal collision in San Marcos
SAN MARCOS, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday evening near the intersection of N. Pacific St. and W. Mission Rd. in San Marcos, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were called to the area around 8:34 p.m. and found a victim lying on the roadway near two damaged vehicles – a white SUV and a black sedan. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said it remains unclear how each vehicle was involved in the collision. According to SDSO, the driver suspected of causing the crash fled the scene on foot. As of 10:30 p.m. the suspect had not yet been found and the search remained active. K-9 units and drones were deployed to assist in the search. This is a developing story.
