Driver failed to yield before deadly Glasscock County crash

GLASSCOCK COUNTY — A man is dead after a two-vehicle collision in which a driver failed to yield. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision occurred about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at the intersection of State Highway 137 and Farm to Market Road 2401. DPS reported Joseph Wayne Summers, 42, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, was pronounced dead at the scene. DPS reported Summers was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. Preliminary information from the DPS report indicated that a 2020 Mack Pinnacle towing a trailer was traveling north on SH 137. Another vehicle, a 2020 Ram 2500, was traveling west on FM 2401 when its driver failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with the Mack Pinnacle. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released.
