Driver escapes from SUV perched on Milwaukee bridge edge after collision
A federal agent had to exit their SUV through the back window following a collision on Monday that left the vehicle partially hanging over a retaining wall on I-794. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies had to break the rear window so that the driver, who was an FBI agent, could safely crawl out. The incident occurred at 8 a.m. on I-794 eastbound at Second Street. The driver of the vehicle that hit the agent's SUV stated that the crash was caused by a sudden swerve or brake from a vehicle in front of him, leading to his vehicle colliding with the federal agent's SUV. The collision resulted in the agent's SUV resting partially on a retaining wall with two wheels hanging over the edge. The driver of the striking vehicle will receive a citation for unsafe lane deviation. The Milwaukee Fire Department also arrived at the scene, but both drivers declined medical treatment.
