Driver dies in early morning single-vehicle crash in Pleasant Prairie

The Pleasant Prairie Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one person dead early Wednesday morning.The crash happened near the 2200 block of 91st Street just before 6 a.m. The driver was pronounced dead after initially being found by officers unconscious and not breathing. Officers attempted life-saving measures while waiting for rescue personnel to arrive.Preliminary investigation into the crash indicates that the driver was traveling westbound on 91st Street when they left the roadway and struck a tree, according to police.It is unclear what caused the driver’s vehicle to leave the roadway; however, police said speed is believed to have been a contributing factor in the severity of the crash.Officers found the driver unconscious and not breathing and began life-saving measures.Watch: Driver dies in early morning single-vehicle crash in Pleasant Prairie:The crash closed the roadway for several hours while investigators processed the scene.
