Driver dies after crash on South Holden Road in Greensboro, police say

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Greensboro Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened just after midnight on Monday on South Holden Road. Around 12:04 a.m., GPD officers, Greensboro firefighters and Guilford County EMS responded to a single vehicle crash in the area of South Holden Road just north of the Interstate 40 overpass, according to a Greensboro Police Department news release. Luis Tomas Ventura-Chocoy, 31, of Greensboro, was driving a Kia SUV north on South Holden Road when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree in the center median. Ventura-Chocoy died from his injuries at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle. The GPD’s Crash Reconstruction Unit responded and is conducting the ongoing investigation.
