Driver dead following early morning rollover crash in far East El Paso
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- An 18-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle rollover crash early Sunday morning, April 26 in far East El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department. At around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers with the Special Traffic Investigation unit were dispatched to the 12200 block of Montana in reference to a single vehicle crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2021 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling westbound on Montana at a "high rate of speed," according to EPPD. The vehicle struck a concrete barrier and curb, causing the vehicle to roll over. The driver and passenger of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and were transported. The driver, identified as 18-year-old Erick Holguin, died due to his injuries, according to EPPD. The crash is still under investigation. This is the 18th traffic fatality of 2026, compared to 21 at this time last year.
