Driver dead after fiery tractor-trailer crash on WB I-70 in Blue Springs
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Westbound Interstate 70 near Woods Chapel Road is shut down Monday morning after a fiery tractor-trailer crash left one person dead, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Troopers said the single tractor-trailer ran off the roadway and caught fire on westbound I-70 in Jackson County. The driver died in the crash. All westbound traffic is being diverted onto Woods Chapel as crews continue to investigate and clear the crash site. The highway was still closed as of 8:30 a.m. No additional information about the driver has been released. This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
