Driver crashes into restaurant after fleeing police in Baltimore’s Fells Point

A 24-year-old woman was arrested after fleeing a traffic stop, crashing into two vehicles, and driving into a restaurant in Fells Point Friday night, according to authorities. On May 22, around 10:46 p.m., police observed a vehicle speeding without its headlights on in the 700 block of Broadway. The vehicle then stopped and attempted to park in a non-parking spot. Officers initiated a traffic stop after learning the driver was picking up a food delivery order. When officers requested the driver’s license and registration, the woman instead drove off at a high rate of speed, police said. The vehicle struck two other cars before crashing into a building in the 800 block of S. Ann Street, which houses the Bunny’s Buckets & Bubbles . The restaurant later posted on social media about the crash, saying, “This is very crazy. So happy no one was sitting on the bench or on the sidewalk when this happened.” Surveillance video captured the moment the car struck the restaurant. Watch below: After the crash, police said the driver attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. Authorities also noted that a 6-year-old child was in the car and was transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. The driver, a 24-year-old woman, has since been transported to Central Booking. The restaurant reopened for brunch at 10 a.m. Saturday, after a building inspector determined the structure is sound, noting only minor damage, including a small hole in the wall. All vehicles involved were towed from the scene.
