Driver charged with homicide after crashing into horse-drawn buggy while intoxicated, say troopers

A man is currently facing charges of homicide following a tragic collision involving a horse and buggy in Lancaster County on Thursday. The incident, which occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Strasburg Road/Route 741 near Hoover Road in Salisbury, resulted in the death of a 65-year-old woman who was operating the buggy. Her identity has not been disclosed yet. The crash also claimed the life of the horse pulling the buggy. Pennsylvania State Police stated that the driver of a Dodge Caravan, identified as 33-year-old Danial Miller from Mertztown, Berks County, was found to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the accident. Miller was apprehended at the scene and is now facing charges of DUI-related homicide by vehicle, among other DUI-related offenses.
