BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A woman is facing multiple felony charges in connection with a deadly rollover crash in Brownsville over the weekend. Cynthia Dominique Gonzalez, 20, was charged with collision involving death, a second-degree felony, and six counts of collision involving serious bodily injury, a third-degree felony, according to the Brownsville Police Department. As ValleyCentral previously reported, in the early hours of Sunday morning, Border Patrol agents at the Fort Brown Station came across a vehicle they suspected of being involved in human smuggling. Border Patrol agents attempted to stop the vehicle when the driver, identified as Gonzalez, allegedly sped off. The vehicle rolled over and crashed on the 4000 block of FM 511. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Four people, believed to be in the country illegally, were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. A judge set Gonzalez's bail at $170,000, according to Cameron County jail records. Cameron County jail records don't list an attorney for Gonzalez, who couldn't be reached for comment.
