Driver charged after allegedly racing at 119 MPH in fatal crash

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRC) - An Alabama man has been charged with manslaughter after authorities said he was racing at nearly 120 mph when he caused a crash that killed another driver. Clifton Land IV, 32, is accused of racing on May 14 when his vehicle collided with a car driven by Stacey Neese, 54, according to court records, via WALA . Investigators said Land was traveling 119 mph at the time of the crash. Both vehicles were destroyed in the collision. Neese died from injuries suffered in the crash. Authorities said Land turned himself in and was taken into custody. His bond was set at $100,000. Court records show that if released on bond, Land is prohibited from driving. He is scheduled to return to court June 18.
