Driver arrested after deadly crash in Caldwell, three young-people taken to hospital
One person died in a crash at a Caldwell intersection. Idaho State Police said the two-vehicle crash happened at 9:20 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of East Linden Street and South Kimball Avenue in Caldwell. Police said a silver 2011 GMC Sierra, driven by a 28-year-old man from Guatemala, was traveling westbound on East Linden Street. A white 2007 Pontiac G6, driven by a 35-year-old man from Caldwell with three juveniles in the vehicle, was traveling southbound on South Kimball Avenue. Investigators said the GMC failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the Pontiac in the intersection. The driver of the Pontiac died at the scene. The three juveniles in the Pontiac were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. The driver of the GMC was also taken by ambulance to a hospital and was later arrested and booked into the Canyon County Jail. The intersection of East Linden Street and South Kimball Avenue was blocked for about 3 1/2 hours. ISP said it was assisted by Canyon County Paramedics, the Caldwell Police Department and the Caldwell Fire Department.
