Driver and dog die in Albany Thruway accident

State Police in Albany responded to a tragic accident on the Thruway on January 5th. The incident occurred near Exit 24 of I-90 by the Northway interchange at approximately 5:15 p.m. David Hall, a 46-year-old from Pittsfield, was driving a westbound SUV that veered off the road and struck the back of a parked flatbed tractor trailer. Despite being rushed to Albany Medical Center for severe injuries, Hall sadly passed away the following day. Tragically, his dog, who was also in the vehicle, did not survive. The driver of the tractor trailer, who was inspecting the vehicle at the time of the crash, escaped unharmed and is cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
