Two children, aged 6 and 9, were tragically killed in a collision on the 5 Freeway in Lebec on Christmas Day, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The driver of a Nissan Rogue, identified as Jorge Preciado, lost control and struck the back of a Toyota RAV4 that was stationary in the center median of the northbound lanes around 3 p.m. Three children in the Nissan, who were not properly restrained, were thrown from the vehicle.
