Driver, 23, killed in Ada Township collision
A fatal accident occurred in Ada Township late last night. Authorities confirmed that the crash took place at the intersection of Vergennes Street SE and Pettis Avenue SE around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. A vehicle traveling west on Vergennes failed to stop at the intersection, colliding with a concrete barrier in a nearby business parking lot. Tragically, the driver, a 23-year-old male from Kalamazoo, lost his life at the scene. The Kent County Sheriff's Office suspects that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the incident, though they have not released the driver's identity. The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently being investigated.
