DPS searching for vehicle tied to fatal hit-and-run crash

WINKLER COUNTY — The Texas Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash. The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash happened at about 11 p.m. Sunday, May 31, on County Road 313 at mile marker 225. Clayton David Teeder, 43, of Lubbock, was pronounced dead at the scene. DPS said a preliminary investigation indicates an unidentified vehicle was traveling south on County Road 313 when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The driver failed to stop and render aid and fled the scene immediately after the collision. The crash remains under investigation, and no further details have been released. Anyone with information about the crash is urged to call Texas DPS at 432-498-2131 or the Winkler County Sheriff’s Office at 432-586-3461.
