Don Shula Expressway shut down southbound in southwest Miami-Dade after fatal crash
Drivers are being asked to seek an alternate route after a fatal crash shut down the southbound lanes of the Don Shula Expressway in southwest Miami-Dade early Tuesday morning. The crash involved a truck and a car around 1:30 a.m., and at least one fatality has been reported. The southbound lanes have been closed from the Killian Parkway to the Florida's Turnpike, and it's unknown when those lanes will reopen.Heavy delays have been reported behind the crash, and now delays have started to build in the northbound lanes."So, getting into Kendall northbound is going to be slow, and southbound is totally closed," CBS News Miami's Austin Carter said. Carter said that to get around the crash, your best route would be the Turnpike."Your alternate, it's still going to be by taking the Turnpike pretty much on the entire span now coming from 836 south to Kendall," Carter said.No other information was released.
